SCRAP stands for School Communities Recycling All Paper Ltd.

We are a non-profit company and we exist to help schools, other educational, government, non-profit bodies as well as private individuals and companies become environmentally-friendly; and we encourage you - whether you are a student, a teacher or a member of the wider community - to understand how to do this better.

SCRAP has a wide range of goods and services available (see Green Buys Catalogue button above), ranging from worms and worm farms, waste reduction and recycling to energy, water and biodiversity conservation (see Programs button above) and a range of other recycled/green products. SCRAP works with the best industry professionals it can find and adds its own unique range of skills in environmental auditing and consultancy to help you and your organisation(s) become a bit more environmentally friendly.

WORM FARMING

Since March 2009, SCRAP Ltd has incorporated S & J Worms. We have also installed a Vermicrobe worm farming system and we now produce our own worms. SCRAP's main goal in this venture is to help reduce waste to landfill, especially organic waste (from food and garden) as this material is far better composted and/or worm farmed and returned to our soils where it is much needed to improve biodiversity and fertility. FUNDRAISING, DONATIONS AND SCRAP'S CHARITABLE STATUS

SCRAP Ltd is Authorised to Fundraise in NSW and has Deductible Gift Recipient Status through Section 30-280 of the Federal Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

All donations to the SCRAP Ltd Public Gift Fund over $2 are tax deductible and all funds are directed to the support of our objectives in protecting the environment and advancing environmental education.

2011 SCRAP & Holsworthy High School - Environmental Scholarship

The Inaugural Scholarship for a HHS student in Year 10 progressing to senior high school who demonstrates the greatest environmental commitment will be awarded this year. SCRAP Ltd is funding the scholarship annually for $500 to assist the chosen student to continue their studies. This is in recognition of the agreement with Holsworthy HS to provide a home for the SCRAP Centre since 2001 (now officially sanctioned in a long term lease from the NSW DET).
